Anyway, back in Laaahndan town and we're spoilt for choice tonight, with several awesome parties across the capital. Sadly not all can be reached, and Matter looks the likeliest destination. Let us know if you make it down to any of ther others!
Standardly big line-up, though the fact that Skream and Benga are absent is the reason behind the fact it hasn't sold out in advance. They are currently ensconced in Cornwall recording the forthcoming Magnetic Man album, set for release on Columbia Records in a few months.
Big up to Tom Broadbent whose put together a great looking event at the Bussey warehouse building in Peckham. This is dissertation hand in day for most of the South London arts schools so expect massive queues, broken toilets, warm cans of fosters and Patrick Wolf lookalikes mincing about and getting in fights. Probably.
A very left-field and experimental line-up at Deadly Rhythm this month, showcasing their admirable desire to push the scene forward and give a platform to upcoming artists. Housed at the beautifully refurbed Plan B, Deadly Rhythm has steadily risen to become one of the best loved clubnights in South. Martyn makes a rare appearance in London after relocating full time to Washington D.C, and never fails to disappoint. Watch out for Jackmaster in 2010 aswell.
At Corsica Studios is Trouble Vision, which has rapidly built a fevered following through well balanced line-ups that explore the whole spectrum of electronic music, and often feature live shows and surprises. Seeing Bass Clef and his live orchestra before Christmas was an eye popping live show, and TV has turned me on to exciting new producers such as SBTRKT and Hot City.
