DMZ 6th Birthday - Saturday 5th March, Brixton Mass

WOWZA. Us here at Get Low haven't missed a DMZ birthday since 2007, and this year it seems Mala and the gang have gone all out. Skream and Benga may be DMZ staples but they have never been at the level of celebrity as they are at now in 2011, and when you add in a team up like James Blake vs Kode 9 you invite the entire blogosphere to go into meltdown.

DMZ Birthday tips:

1.Get to Brixton for 8pm. Check the size of the queue outside Mass and if its dead you can always go for a drink for a little bit. We recommend the Alma, Dogstar or The Prince.

2. Be prepared for some serious queuing.

3. Neck as much booze as possible beforehand; just because its a church space in the middle of Brixton does not mean that drinks aren't a horrible bump inside. £4 for a Fosters? Jesus wept.

4. Stay til 6am. It may be a slog shuffling about to sub bass for 8 hours but there is always a set worth staying for around 4-5am,and often is when the best surprises are. Plus the tube starts again at 6am.

5. Grab a flyer for Basslaced on your way out...

The Summer Blazedown

Characteristically late with their announcement, DMZ's line-up for the Summer Blazedown tomorrow night has caused many to hurriedly change their plans for the weekend. James Blake has been booked, a big moment in this superb young producers career. Get down for the vibes.
