THE MANSION RAVE RETURNS

I'm ecstatic to announce that the Mansion Rave returns this Friday!

The last Mansion Rave was totally packed, vibes were through the roof, and turned out the be another "Best Night of the Year" brought to you by the triumvirate of Get Low, Pow, and Damage; the scalleywags that dreamt up the (now legendary) Garden Rave.

Don't miss out on the next one.

Katy B on a mission / Listenin' to the records on my wall

Apologies if this blog appears to have become the Skream and Benga show, but both have dropped brand new promo campaigns this week (including their Mangetic Man business). So shut up and read this interesting feature.

Skream - Listenin to the records on my wall

This epic, cinematic track has been a feature of his DJ sets over the last year and has been chosen as the premier single off new solo album 'Outside the box'. This is a leftfield song and an incredibly leftfield video has been produced. We're unconvinced as to how much the two ideas work together but it is truely a breath of fresh air, and many of the camera tricks used in the video are ground breaking for what is essentially still a Dubstep promo.

Have a look at the behind the scenes documentary aswell to see how in-depth the process was.

Katy B & Benga - Katy on a Mission

Originally a standard dubstep riddim called 'Man on a Mission', Benga has handed it over to Geeneus and Zinc's protege Katy B and the result could well be the club hit of the summer (friends in Ayia Napa say its getting rinsed more than any other track-always a sign of a sure fire hit). Brit School graduate Katy B has a lovely vocal range that compliments this club roller, as you may remember from some of her earlier work such as the funky breakthrough hit 'Tell Me' which was produced by DJ NG. She is FIT aswell, which always helps.

The promo was shot at the now defunct Matter nightclub, which adds an unintentional level of pathos to the video. It chronicles the final Rinse vs FWD rave and captures the energy and all round good vibes of those great parties. R.I.P Matter!

Guardian article featuring Get Low Blog

Big thanks to Guardian journalist Paul Lester for including information from the Get Low Blog in his feature on Magnetic Man.

However the article stands alone as a rather negative piece amonst the wave of online hyperbole praising Magnetic Man as the essential Dubstep super-group. He doesn't care much for this pop-dubstep hybrid, flagging up the admittedly bizarre collaboration with John Legend that features on the album. The rest of us will have to wait for the full release, but fingers crossed that the sound will echo their awesome new live show, which can be seen in the official video for new single I Need Air. This was filmed at Parklife festival in Manchester, and possibly holds the world record for the most gurns in a 3 minute clip.

The great Wiley Leak of 2010

Wiley has just self-leaked over 200 tracks of his music, including the album that he just signed a new record deal with, after sacking his manager over Twitter.

What a ledge.

Skream presents the Freeizm Vol. 2

Skream released the second of his Freeizm series.

'Dark Light' seems to be the pick of the bunch having been yearned for by fans for over a year.  The remix of Loefah's Indian Dub is a pleasant surprise too, having been previously consigned to the "never gonna get released" pile of Skream's vast private discography.

Good on him!

Tracklist

1.Dark Light
2.Arola
3.Disturbin Toyz
4.Sine-Us
5.Loefah-Indian Dub-Skream's 04 Rmx

The Summer Blazedown

Characteristically late with their announcement, DMZ's line-up for the Summer Blazedown tomorrow night has caused many to hurriedly change their plans for the weekend. James Blake has been booked, a big moment in this superb young producers career. Get down for the vibes.
