J.WALLIS MIX - It's dope!

Ain't it great when your best mates do the best mixes?  I feel a collective coming along.

J.WALLIS is a meticulous internet crate digger, and this mix is a fine reward for his efforts.  Our shovel-handed friend has curated a delicious mix of House and Techno (and Tech House, who knows anymore) that is 30 minutes of Stern.

Mike Driver - How's My Driving? Vol. 2

Mike is my best mate (well, one of my best mates).

He also happens to be a pretty good driver and a damn good DJ.  This mix marks a forming musical aesthetic for the Driver - exciting times lie in the road ahead.

Klose One's guest mix on Rinse FM for Swamp 81

Klose One is without a doubt one of Get Low's favourite DJs. Truly top-tier in terms of technical ability, he's clearly moving into Oneman/Ben UFO/Jackmaster territory as being recognised as one of the UK's finest.

This is his guest mix from the last Swamp 81 Rinse show.  An expert snapshot of the current house and bass mutations broiling away in the underground...

DIMENSIONS FESTIVAL + Night Owl Mix

We're Outlook Festival regulars, attending again this year after having played at the previous two years.  The site of Fort Punta Christo is truly remarkable.  Both times I've stayed on site for a week after the festival for a much needed wind down and leveling out after 3 days at the Mecca of Bass music.

Whoever came up with the idea to put on a sister festival a week later deserves a medal.  A new focus on Techno and House as well as the deeper ends of the bass music spectrum makes Dimensions certainly on for the heads.

By keeping the stages to the fort and reducing the capacity - Dimensions looks set to mirror the intimate vibes that made Outlook 2010 a year to go down in history - like Woodstock '69  or Glastonbury '97.

Perhaps Dimensions '12 will join those illustrious ranks - you want to find out, don't you?

Get yer tickets here.

Our buddy Night Owl did a vinyl only exclusive mix for Dimensions, ch-check it out!

** If anyone else is doing the double and staying for 2 weeks, big up yous!

"Getting Down With The Kids Mix" by Skandal

GETTING DOWN WITH THE KIDS MIX - DJ SKANDAL by SKANDALUK

This is a sick mix from man like Skandal.  If you remember, he did an exclusive mix for us  a while ago. Skandal's mixing is tight as a virgin from nearly two decades of mixing from the Jungle days to practice sessions when Benga & Skream were wee nippers.  Definitely worth a listen.

Klose One - Late Summer Nights

KLOSE ONE has just done a tasty new mix floating between the newly coined Warehouse, House, and Moombahton.  As always with Klose, this is a scorcher and there's some serious blending here from a master of the craft.  Him and Rattus are some of the best DJs out there.  Big up yous.

Dashiel's "1+1=3" Mix

A mixture of dark Funky, future Garage and Dubstep.  These are more or less the tunes I've been battering constantly.

It's called "1+1=3" because I've tried to mix each song together and hold it overlapping to create a new transitionary third tune.  Blackdown talks about this in his review of Oneman.   It's recorded live, one take.

Hope you feel it!

Tracklist

Some ones to watch for 2010

EZ all, these are (some of) my picks for who's gonna make waves in 2010.

MENSAH

Mensah is a badman producer from Bristol.  I met him when he came to Get Low last October with Joker and Goth Trad on the line-up.  He's releasing an EP on H.E.N.C.H soon, doing collaborations with Noah D, and just generally being a safe as fuck bloke; his entrance into the main Dubstep fraternity is imminent.

Cannae wait for Acid Dub to drop.  Pure hype hype hype.

Download his  1Xtra mix on Redlight's 'In New DJs We Trust' show HERE

PARIAH

Pariah is hotly tipped young producer in the branching Future Garage scene.

Detroit Falls and Orpheus (on the flip) is out on the 29th March.  Instant bagging.

SWINDLE

Swindle is a sick producer making banging Grime beats.  Heavily pushed by Elijah & Skilliam on their Rinse FM show, and with good reason.  If Grime is to have any future or fuel in it's engine, it needs producers like Swindle.

JULIO BASHMORE

'The Moth' was the standout track for me on Fabric's 'Elevator Music Vol. 1' EP.  He's already signed to Claude Von Stroke's label Dirty Bird, which automatically makes him a badman.

Download his mix for Vice Magazine HERE

Tracklisting:

1. Deadboy - “Heartbreaker (Julio Bashmore Remix)”
2. Cooly G - “Love Dub”
3. Deadboy - “U Cheated”
4. Julio Bashmore - “Around”
5. Son of Aphrodite - “Vibrations”
6. DJ Sneak - “Fix My Sink”
7. Blackjoy - “Untitled (Solid Groove Remix)”
8. Mosca - “Gold Bricks, I See You”
9. L-Vis 1990 - “United Groove (Baobinga and I.D Remix)”
10. LV & Untold - “Beacon (Mount Kimbie Remix)”
11. Breach - “Fatherless”
12. Julio Bashmore - “Um Bongo’s Revenge”

It's all about 'Midget' nowadays.  A mixture of Minimal and Fidget.  Do keep up.

Mixtape Sunday

We're watching the Liverpool / Arsenal match right now. Got Oneman's new winter mix 'pon the player in the background.

I'm also now part of the Mixcloud street team, so gotta rep that.

Needless to say, Beats In Abundance smashed it last Thursday. Join our fan page and upload photos. There are tons of sick ones around friend's facebook photo albums, let's put 'em together!
Anyway, BIA did a Dubstep set a few moons ago. Check it out:

We got some badboy guests coming next year, and lots of other big news.

Gonna be a big look!

MONDAY MIXTAPE MADNESS

Ahoy Hoy.

mixtape 2

The weather's colder now, for a lot of people the Library is becoming a second home due to imminent exams and deadlines, and that long walk to Uni/Work/School just ain't cutting it no more.

Here's our attempt to raise your spirits by giving you some tasty mixtapes to put 'pon your Ipod to chomp down during the week.

First off, get out from under your rock if you don't know about man of the minute Joy Orbison. His future garage tune 'Hyph Mngo' is stirring a bloody shitstorm of hype (and rightly so). It's even recently been played out by Sasha in Ibiza of all places!

Check out his DOLDRUMS mix for Lower End Spasm.

Also, a person I've personally been really feeling right now is up-and-comer MENSAH. We met him when he came up with Joker last week. As well as making heavy beats, he's also safe as fuck. A good combination.

Check out his myspace here, and listen to "Acid Dub" and "Pulse 80's". Both pure fire.
http://www.myspace.com/mensahdnb

He's got tracks coming out on H.E.N.C.H., his own exclusive Joker remixes, expect to see a lot more of him next year.

mixtape 1

Anyway, go cop his exclusive mix for the excellent Disruption Inc blog.
