After receiving a number of mixtapes to win a set at our Bonfyaah Night special, we've chosen our first winner.
Having wowwed the Get Low Cartel with precision mixing and being something a bit different, we've awarded Camden based DJ DOC MARTIN with a set this fireworks night.
Doc Martin has been doing the rounds for the past 3 years earning him a residencies left right and centre, namely This Is My Costume (TIMC), Proud Camden, Bankrobber and Synthony.
Playing everything from funk, idie and disco to hard electro there's no question to why this guy has played alongside acts such as Tomb Crew, Yungun and Mr Thing.
Check out the winning mix below filled with pure party vibes-ness:
Again with Die Antwoord, the video is utterly disturbing. But as much as I felt I should be hating, I found myself nodding my head. The tune's pretty good if you take into consideration that it's drawing heavily from South African Zef.
This Bonfire night the Get Low Cartel are putting on an event to warm the soul and help us accept the fast approaching cold winter months ahead.
After that cheeky little carnival session with our old pal Mensah, we're returning to the world famous Dogstar in London's Brixton for a night of gully mayhem.
With three floors at our disposal we've put together a naughty lineup to fit in with the theme of the night to cater to all needs creating the perfect party vibes atmosphere and are giving YOU the chance to win a set at the event!!!! (competition details below)
The go to guys for dancehall, reggae and all things FYAH, The Heatwave have steadily risen to become a beloved fixture on the UK club and festival circuit. From 60's riddims to modern British ragga and dance, these guys know their shit. Check the amazing "England Stories" LP's released on Soul Jazz and compiled by the Heatwave themselves to get an idea of their textured and vividly iconic musical palette. You can also catch The Heatwave on RINSE FM every Sunday 1-3am.
Possibly the most celebrated Dubstep producer of 2010, Quest can do no wrong at present. Alongside Silkie and the rest of West London crew Antisocial, tracks like Summer Anthem "Smooth Skin" have exhibited his unique production style, floating between jazz, house and broken beat to create a modern Dubstep sound that has been championed by Skream, Mala, Benji B and Giles Peterson amongst others.
Old school cohorts of Get Low, superb party starting outfit BIA will be hosting room 2, providing a fabulous fanfare of disco, pop and the fruitier forms of electronic music. If you haven't heard of BIA then shame on you, come and be educated in music - if you're not converted, you have no soul.
★ D-RAIL ★
A Vagabondz favourite, D-Rail never ceases to surprise. With an ability to read crowds backed up by a fiendish record collection, D-Rail hits the nail on the head with spot on precision that gets a room moving.
A musical gee that shys away from the limelight, LP is one not to be missed. Being very particular about the crowds he performs to and using a lot of his own material, make sure you catch this rare performance from an underground favourite.
Honourary member of the Get Low Cartel, Madboy Zimba cannot be categorised. Breaking the mould for traditional turntablism this tropical troublemaker tears up the dancefloor wherever he goes; with regular bookings all over London this is someone you are bound to see alot more of.
As always, Towelie, Lightning and Dash representing in full force bringing you non-stop party vibes, naughty basslines and dirty beats that are simply impossible to resist. If you aint movin', you can't hear.

Get Low favourites Man Like Me appear in the new IKEA advert which was premiered during an ad break on the X Factor on Sunday night, causing London's hipsters to take to Twitter to express their surprise (The concept had obviously been kept under strict lock and and key).
The ad centres around Jonah Lewie's cult classic You'll Always Find Me in the Kitchen at Parties which reached number 2 in the charts in 1980. It's good to see ad agencies giving genuine British talent a leg-up, with a platform that will provide good exposure without losing integrity. Mother London were behind this project, the ad group that also devised the film Somers Town, the Shane Meadows directed flick that subtly advertised the Eurostar shift from Waterloo to St Pancras Station.
Get Low managed to grab a few minutes with Oneman to chat about how the label came about and its plans for the future...
GET LOW: Why did you decide to start up your own record label?
ONEMAN: I've wanted to start a label for a while now, ever since this new hybrid garage/house/dubstep sound came around early 2009. I think starting a label is always a case of finding your first release and then go from there. I played 'Night Hunter' the day I got it at this Red Bull party in Brixton, and it destroyed the place. I knew from then that I wanted to release the record, it deserves a vinyl release!
GL: What kind of sound are you hoping to develop with 502? Is 'Night Hunter' a taste of things to come in terms of musical direction?
O: I'm just going to go with it and release what I like really. At the moment I'm focussing on this new hybrid sound like I say, between 125-135 bpm usually, spacey broken beats and bass. The second release will be a track called 'Prism' by a new producer from Lyon called Jay Weed.
GL: Tell us a little aboutFis-T. What's his background and where did you come across his work?
O: As far as I know, Fis-T comes from a grime background, and has injected that style into his new broken house-style productions. He's a young lad from North London and has a very bright future ahead of him. I came across 'Night Hunter' from browsing the UK Funky charts on iTunes where it had been released by Fis-T himself. I'm sure you will see more releases from Fis-T on 502 Recordings.
GL: It's great to see effort going into expensive vinyl artwork production, and the first 502 record features a distinctive design. Who made it?
O: All 502 releases will be released on 180g quality vinyl with a 2 week delay on digital release. The artwork was a collaborative effort between myself and the designer called Charlotte Knowles. I think it's really important to have a full package that you can take to the shops to sell.
GL: And finally, are we going to see any of your own productions coming out on this label? Many artists have maximised on exposure by releasing their own productions on their own label, like Joker did with Kapsize to fantastic effect.
O: It's a possibility. Not saying too much yet though...
It seems that Diplo loves off Blackberry's aswell as Redbull now. See guys he's just like the rest of us! My admiration for Diplo remains mostly intact, mainly because the advert isn't that bad, and the product in question is admittedly desirable (I instantly viewed my simple Blackberry curve with disdain as soon as the ad finished).
However, viewed alongside the brutally branded Red Bull Major Lazer show at Notting Hill Carnival (an event which clearly went against the core ethos of Carnival) it is clear that Diplo has been fully embraced by the mainstream. This is a tired old comment to make, but whats next? Headlining Creamfields? Becoming a guest judge on the X Factor? Actually that would be brilliant...
On a different tip, this Bruk Out remix by Foamo is a tune we've been banging out in our sets all summer. Probably the best remix of the year.
Didn't know a lot about HeavyFeet till recently, but my, aren't they polished! They've got a new EP out called 'Sawdust and Sultanas', here's the mini-mix showcasing the tunes. Each one is fire!
They've just released a new single today called 'Last Two People'. Here's a free download. It's on a more commercial tip from previous releases though, watch for that.
To be honest, it really is all about the remixes for this one.
Their 'Club Dub' is fire, the DCup remix has the disco/Aeroplane/Chromeo vibe down, and the Two Fresh remix does a gritty breaks mix. I know the two words 'Gritty' and 'Breaks' should instill fear and/or apathy, but it's actually pretty OK.
Seriously, what the fuck is this film about? Who is it supposed to be marketed at? By the looks of the (terrible) casting it seems to be aimed at fun loving clubbers in their twenties, but its clearly been made by people who have never DJed or maybe haven't even ever been to a club before. This trailer is so awful tha I'm tempted to ake it as one massive joke, but the satire isn't biting enough to be a spoof, unlike Joaquin Pheonix's great new Casey Affleck directed mockumentary "I'm still here", which chronicles Joaquin's ambition to become a rapper. A great set-up and a simple spoof you'd think, though this still has bamboozled certain sections of the US Media, to hilarious results, as seen HERE
Anyway, please watch the trailer below, show it to friends, blog it, facebook it. The world needsDJ Girl.
